The Bishnoi is a religious community centered primarily in the Great Indian Desert or Thar Desert with a centuries-long legacy of practicing environmental conservation, wildlife protection, and sustainable resource management. It traces its roots of ecological consciousness and environmentalism back to the teachings of its fifteenth-century guru, Maharaja Jambheshwar, popularly known as Jambhoji. According to legend, in 1485, Saint Guru Maharaja Jambheshwar founded the Bishnoi sect of Hinduism in Marwar region of Rajasthan, India. Although the Bishnoi are today recognized as a subsect of Hinduism, they were recorded as Muslims until the 1891 Census of Marwar. While some scholars classify the Bishnoi as a liminal community because they practice both Hindu and Muslim rites, others consider them to be neither Hindu nor Muslim. जोधपुर. बॉलीवुड के मशहूर अभिनेता सलमान खान द्वारा करीब तीन दशक पहले जोधपुर के कांकाणी गांव में काले हिरण का शिकार करने का मामला आज भी चर्चा में है. 1998 में हुई इस घटना के बाद से यह मामला लगातार कोर्ट में विचाराधीन है. वहीं, अब बिश्नोई समाज द्वारा इस स्थल पर काले हिरण का स्मारक बनाकर इसे एक महत्वपूर्ण स्थान बना दिया गया है. जोधपुर में काले हिरण की एक प्रतिमा भी स्थापित की गई है. बिश्नोई समाज के लोग इस घटना को आज भी नहीं भूले हैं और इस पर अपनी संवेदनशीलता बरकरार रखते हैं। Salman Khan Black Buck Case village 1998 में शूटिंग के दौरान हुई घटना 1998 में सलमान खान अपनी फिल्म ‘हम साथ साथ हैं’ की शूटिंग के लिए जोधपुर में थे. इस दौरान उनके साथ सैफ अली खान, नीलम, तब्बू, सोनाली बेंद्रे और अन्य फिल्मी सितारे भी मौजूद थे. 27 सितंबर से 1 अक्टूबर 1998 के बीच, सलमान खान पर आरोप है कि उन्होंने जोधपुर के अलग-अलग इलाकों में तीन काले हिरण और तीन चिंकारा का शिकार किया. इस घटना के बाद से यह मामला तीन दशकों तक अदालतों में चला आ रहा है, और आज भी इसका समाधान नहीं हुआ है. काले हिरण का स्मारक: बिश्नोई समाज की भावनाओं का प्रतीक बिश्नोई समाज ने इस घटना के विरोध में सलमान खान और अन्य फिल्म सितारों के खिलाफ कानूनी लड़ाई लड़ी. साथ ही, उन्होंने कांकाणी गांव में 7 बीघा जमीन पर काले हिरण का एक भव्य स्मारक बनाने की मुहिम भी चलाई, जो अब बनकर तैयार है. यह स्मारक विश्नोई समाज की काले हिरण और प्रकृति के प्रति उनके गहरे प्रेम और संरक्षण की भावना का प्रतीक है. बिश्नोई समाज का जानवरों के प्रति असीम प्रेम बिश्नोई समाज के लोग पर्यावरण और वन्यजीवों के संरक्षण के लिए समर्पित होते हैं. वे अपने गुरु जंभेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए 29 सिद्धांतों का पालन करते हैं, जिनमें जानवरों और पेड़-पौधों की रक्षा करना प्रमुख है. इस समाज के लोग हिरणों को अपनी जान से भी ज्यादा प्यार करते हैं. अमित बिश्नोई ने बताया कि विश्नोई समाज के लोग हिरणों के बच्चों को दूध पिलाकर उन्हें अपने बच्चों की तरह पालते हैं. The Bishnoi community lives by 29 strict rules of conduct (bish is 20 and noi is nine), including a ban on felling trees and killing animals. In protest, about 360 people, including women, from 84 Bishnoi villages wrapped themselves around the trees, in the hope that they would be able to save them. Three hundred and sixty-three people died at that time and today, 363 trees have been planted around the Jambheshwarji Temple in their memory. Nearby is the shepherds’ village at Rebari and the Bishnoi village of Guda.
